The Messengers of Healing: Spirit Animals and the Journey of Connection

A White Horse and Red Deer great each other. Totems for Life explores relationship and landscape.
The White Horse and the Red Deer, Totems

Whilst holding the animals, I found a deep playful quality, through the painting; working with wood, wax and damar resin, the work became magical and healing.

When there is a threat to health, through loss and trauma, there is also an impact to human relationships. We can sometimes find solitude from this complexity, through the expression of our inner child; this gives room for growth, a reminder of innocence and an opportunity for resolution through a commitment to healing through self expression. The container experienced is like a temple, in which art becomes a ritual and enables a journey of transformation.

Within the sacred circle of the Medicine Wheel, four ancient messengers move with quiet grace; carrying the medicine of courage, presence and transformation. They also teach about the value of safe attachment, in attending to safety, boundaries and creating mutually respectful environments in which sovereignty can be nurtured. If there have been complications in childhood with parents, relating to attachment, physical objects and the power of control, there can be distortions around availability, control and possession. The power animals help to reflect on sharing, gifting, ownership, understanding, innate wisdom and power.

The Peacock unfurls its iridescent feathers, a radiant wave of resilience and rebirth. It's song vibrates through shadow and light, inviting us to bathe in the fluid currents of healing, where pain dissolves and beauty is reborn. The peacock is also considered a symbol of soul mate idealism, immortality, and renewal. They can also symbolise royalty, integrity and the ability to see beyond the surface due to the "eyes" on their feathers, which are associated with divine vision - the all seeing eye and protection.

The Deer steps softly through the forest of the heart, a keeper of gentle strength and deep listening. The deer teaches the sacred art of contained freedom, holding tender spaces, under tree of life branches, speaking truth with vulnerability and weaving connection through compassion’s thread.

The Horse flows wild and free, an embodiment of trust in movement and change. It calls us to surrender to the rhythm of life’s tides, balancing independence with belonging and a committed, secure attachment, letting the waters of our being flow without restraint but with a solid, sure footed path, in which direction holds innate purpose.

The Lion, is regal whilst in stillness, however he holds a flame; a fierce yet tender guardian of sovereignty, his roar resonates with a primal cry, of rights in autonomy and freedom. The lion shows us how power can be shared, how boundaries become bridges and how presence rooted in truth can open the heart wide.

These messengers do not ask for rigid promises, but for a willingness to walk a path, a relationship, where attachment is not restrictive, but a safe harbour in the storm; where emotional processing unfolds in its own time, softly, honestly, openly, consciously, with patience and care.

Healing is a dance of energy and spirit, sometimes motivating crashing waves, sometimes quiet pools; a sacred rhythm where voices find the courage to speak and listening hearts hold space, without judgment.

In the healing space is transformative; through regression, hypnotherapy, philosophy, art, deep emotional processing and the wild landscape we roam, we bring these teachings together. Spirit animals and art become a guide; companions and mirrors, inviting you to reclaim your power, find sanctuary within yourself and move freely on your unique journey.

To honour your path, you can buy or experience these encaustic sculptures and paintings; a totem and talisman that holds the energy of your chosen spirit animal and or landscape. A sacred presence to remind you of your strength, your courage; the ongoing dance between holding, caring and releasing.

Even amidst life’s tempests; grief, betrayal, isolation and strain, there is always a call to return home to your own center, to build a container both strong enough to hold your wounds and soft enough to cradle your wings, enabling a deep intimate experience with yourself and the path you have grown through, with its challenges, its inspiration and it's love. The sense of attachment to an object, helps cross into a trust, in which we understand attachment in those relationships that are dear to us, in which we can speak openly and with a clear and honest heart. We honour ourselves and our ability to form safety, clarity and healthy secure attachment by expressing dependability in our rhythm of understanding, connection and knowledge. Here, there is mutual respect and the power dynamic, whilst high lights different forms of power, forms meaning with equality.

If you feel the gentle pull of this unfolding journey, to meet your spirit animal and walk a path of true healing. I invite you to join me in this sacred circle. In the space I offer; through transformation, philosophy, art and the wild landscape, we meet these teachings together. Spirit animals become guides, companions, and mirrors, inviting you to reclaim your power, find sanctuary within yourself and move freely on your unique journey.

A sacred presence to remind you of your strength, your courage and the ongoing dance between holding and releasing.
